Tambopata
Early wake-up call (4:30 a.m.) for a light coffee or tea before setting off on a 40-minute boat ride upriver to the Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick in Bahuaja-Sonene National Park. Enjoy breathtaking natural scenery and observe wildlife along the Tambopata River. Upon arrival, weather permitting, witness one of the most spectacular wildlife displays: hundreds of parrots and macaws of various species descending to feed on the clay—a truly unforgettable experience!
Light snack provided. Mid-morning return to the Lodge for breakfast and free time (approx. 2 hours). Between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m., take a short trip to a nearby beach for a refreshing swim and snacks. If the river level allows, visit the Gato Waterfall.
Optionally, upon prior request to the guide, try fishing for some of the 250+ fish species in the area or go kayaking or canoeing on the river. After lunch, take an ethnobotanical walk through jungle trails, learning about local medicinal plants and trees while observing the incredible Amazon ecosystem. Discover walking palms, ancient lupuna trees, snakes, and more. At nightfall, take a boat ride in search of caimans. Dinner.
Overnight at the Lodge.
