Flight over the enigmatic Nazca Lines. This is an area of approximately 500 km² / 310 mi² of Pampa, where the mysterious lines were discovered in 1927. The real dimension of these lines can only be fully appreciated from the air. They depict various animal figures, such as a spider, a monkey, a dog, a lizard, a hummingbird, and a condor. The sizes of these figures range from 15 to 300 m / 50 to 1,000 ft in height.
Return transfer to the hotel.

Transfer to the pier for a 2-hour cruise to the Ballestas Islands, where you can observe hundreds of sea lions, penguins, and more than 60 species of seabirds. You will also see the enormous “Candelabra” drawn on a sand slope.

PM: City tour. Visit the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral and its Museum of Religious Art, the Church of Santo Domingo or Koricancha. The tour continues to the archaeological sites around Cusco: the fortresses of Sacsayhuamán and Puca Pucara, the temple and amphitheater of Qenqo, and the water sanctuary of Tambomachay.

Cusco / Urubamba Valley

Excursion to Urubamba, the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Visit the town of Pisac and its authentic and traditional market, where locals exchange their products. Continue through the valley to Ollantaytambo, a favorite residence of the Incas, with its terraces climbing the steep hillside to the top. There, a carved stone throne allowed the ruler a magnificent view of his domain. You will also see the fabulous Inca ruins of Ollantaytambo.
Lunch at a restaurant in the valley. Return to your hotel.

Traslado a la estación de Ollanta para tomar el Transfer to Ollanta Station to take the train to the Machu Picchu area.
Take the bus up to Machu Picchu, the “Lost City of the Incas.” Machu Picchu was a flourishing ceremonial and agricultural site, probably the gateway to the jungle marches of the Inca Empire. It was associated with the land cult that revolved around the coca leaf, a privilege restricted to the Inca royal family and priests.

Guided tour for 2:30 hours. Bus descent to Aguas Calientes.
Return train to Cusco. Meeting and transfer to your hotel.

PM: Guided tour of Colonial and Modern Lima. Tour of the city’s historic center. Admire the beauty of Plaza San Martín and Plaza Mayor, the Cathedral, the Government Palace, and visit the Convent of San Francisco and its catacombs, a religious building from the late 16th century. Continue through the residential districts of San Isidro and Miraflores.
