Rest of the morning free to acclimate to the altitude (3,400 masl).
PM City tour. Visit to the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, and the Museum of Religious Art, as well as the Church of Santo Domingo or Koricancha. The tour continues to the archaeological sites around Cusco, including the fortresses of Sacsayhuamán and Puca Pucara, the amphitheater of Kenko, and the Sanctuary of Tambomachay.

Departure by bus from Cusco (3,350m) at 5:30 am. Along the way, we will observe vast farmlands and villages that have preserved their ancestral traditions and customs. Kilometer 82 marks the meeting point with our support team (porters) and the starting point of the Inca Trail. We continue to Wayllabamba (3,100m) and finally begin the ascent to our camp in Yuncachimpa (3,300m).

The sunrise offers a breathtaking view of a welcoming and mysterious landscape. The morning remains cool as we trek through the valley of Yuncachimpa (3,300m) and Lulluchapampa (3,850m) before reaching the highest pass, Warmihuañusca (4,200m), from where we can see the majestic Veronica Mountain. After enjoying the view, we descend into the Pacaymayu Valley (3,500m) and continue toward the Runcuracay Pass (3,950m), from where we can see our camp in Chaquicocha (3,650m), nestled deep in the tropical forest.

This is the most beautiful day due to constant ecosystem changes, as the tropical forests grow denser. We visit the archaeological sites of Phuyupatamarca (3,600m) and Wiñayhuayna (2,650m), where we set up our final camp.

After an early breakfast at 5:00 am, we set out with our flashlights toward the Sun Gate (Inti Punku, 2,780m), where we witness the breathtaking sunrise over Machu Picchu and Wayna Picchu. At 8:00 am, we visit the citadel of Machu Picchu (2,400m), a place of historical and cultural significance in perfect harmony with nature.
In the afternoon, return to Cusco by Expedition train and transfer to your hotel.

PM Guided tour of Colonial and Modern Lima, including the historic city center, Plaza San Martin, Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, and the Government Palace. Visit to San Francisco Convent and its Catacombs. The tour continues through the residential districts of San Isidro and Miraflores.
